Do you offer off-site rentals?
Unfortunately, we do not offer off-site rentals at this time. For off-site rentals, we recommend Outer Banks Kayak Adventures.
We have a small child. Can they go on the kayak with us?
Yes, small children can sit in the middle of a double kayak, between the two paddlers. There is no extra charge for this.
How long can we rent?
Our rentals start with an hour, but additional hours are available at a reduced rate if interested. Everyone is different in what they are looking for; most rentals are either an hour or two; however, more time is available if needed.
What should we bring?
We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, a snack, and a waterproof pouch or case for your phone. Most items can also be purchased at our shop if you forget!
Where are we allowed to go?
Our location is situated just north of a maze of undeveloped islands (about 10 minutes’ paddle time). These islands protect you from the wind and keep the conditions nice and calm. This area also provides a great opportunity to get a glimpse of herons, pelicans, an array of different fish species, turtles, and much more Outer Banks native wildlife.
Can we use our own life jackets?
Yes, you may use your own life jackets, as long as they are USCG-approved. This stamp can be found on the back of most jackets (if applicable). If you are unsure, feel free to bring them in, and our staff will be happy to check them for you.
What is included in the rental?
Each rental includes a double kayak, life jackets, paddles, and basic instructions on the operation and the designated area in which you must stay.
Do you offer kayak tours?
We do not currently offer kayak tours; however, we highly recommend Outer Banks Kayak Adventures if looking for a guided tour.
What kind of kayaks do you rent?
All of our double kayaks are Perception Tribe 13.5 tandem sit-on-top kayaks.
