Do I need experience for jet skiing in OBX?
No prior experience is required for jet skiing in OBX. Beginners receive a full safety briefing and instructions before heading out. Staff are on hand to make sure you feel confident and comfortable on the water.
How old do I need to be to rent a jet ski?
To rent a jet ski from us, you must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and credit card.
How old do you have to be to drive a jet ski?
Drivers must be a minimum of 16 years of age, with “legal” proof of age (driver’s license or permit, passport, etc). Proof of age can be provided with documents on hand or by a picture on a phone. Without seeing proof of age, we cannot let you drive, so please make sure you bring “proof of age” with you.
Drivers 16 & 17 years old cannot drive or have a passenger who is another minor!
Minors must have an adult present at all times during their rental.
How many people are allowed on each jet ski?
Maximum of 2 riders per jet ski, with a combined weight under 400 lbs.
Can we switch drivers on the tour?
Yes, if this is something you would like to do, please let the tour guide know prior to departing, and they will be happy to set a stopping point to allow the driver switch.
I've never ridden a jet ski before. Is it dangerous?
Jet skis are generally easy to ride, even for a beginner! We will go over the safety rules and regulations with you before hitting the water, and we will make sure to familiarize you with your machine and where to operate your jet ski for your safe riding pleasure.
If it is your first time driving a jet ski, we would recommend our 30-minute or hourly rentals over the guided tour.
Will I need to pay for gas?
Nope! Your rental comes with a full tank of gas and is ready to go!
Do you provide life jackets?
Life jackets are included with your rental at no extra charge.
Can we bring our own life jackets?
Yes you can bring and use your own life jackets. However, they must be USCG-approved; this approval stamp can be found on the back of most lifejackets (if applicable). If you are unsure, feel free to bring them along and ask any of our staff to check for you.
How many people are needed for a jet ski tour?
We require a minimum of three jet skis to make up a guided tour. If interested in a jet ski tour and can’t meet the three-ski minimum, we may be able to combine you with another group. Please give us a call to see available times.
What should we wear on a jet ski tour?
Everyone is different in what they choose to wear. We recommend swimsuits, or basically anything you don’t mind getting wet. When going on your jet ski tour, we do recommend leaving anything you wouldn’t want to potentially lose, such as hats, sunglasses, and phones.
Will the weather affect my jet ski tour?
Generally, we are open rain or shine. The wind and water conditions can affect safety, so we will use our discretion on rescheduling or refunds. Due to the nature of our tours and being further from our location, tours can be cut short or some spots missed because of a storm. We take safety very seriously and will always err on the side of caution.

The view of the Outer Banks from the water’s edge is amazing, and there is no better way than to see it on a jet ski tour. Depending on the weather and conditions, we can cover up to 40 miles. We are always searching for aquatic inhabitants, including a large array of waterfowl, dolphins, and turtles!
